Pendulum   There are two clubs which offer this extreme sport to the novice or tourist.  As in the above, government permits and standards are complied with.  One swing takes place on one side of the Viaducto Miranda Bridge and swings down and over to the other side for about a ten second swing followed by swings of less arc and time.  They swing from 9 to 4 on the weekend and the cost is $20.  The other swing takes place at the T- Bridge (about 40 minutes southwest of Merida) on the Pan-American Highway and is a 60 meter swing-regarded by all, as the most thrilling of the two.  The cost is the same and they usually swing on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Note this phone number to make sure swinging is taking place: 63 98 20 and ask for Alejandro.
